Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a non-invasive treatment that uses broad-spectrum light to target specific glands in the eyelids, as well as, various skin conditions. Unlike laser treatments that use a single wavelength of light, IPL, emits multiple wavelengths, allowing it to address a range of issues simultaneously. The biggest benefits are improvement in dry eye symptoms, reduced redness and rosacea, treating hyperpigmentation, acne treatment, skin rejuvenation and hair removal.

All patients should undergo a series treatment, typically four treatments to start. Treatments are normally spaced two to three weeks apart in the beginning, then repeated as needed for maintenance.

This treatment has a very strong track record for safety and precision. Redness or flushing usually goes away in a few hours. Brown spots may turn slightly darker for a few days, and then flake off. Side effects are rare and generally temporary. The specific risks and the suitability of these procedures for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation.
