Stellest lenses use a new technology that allows a central, clear zone for vision correction with a peripheral zone containing 11 rings of tiny inset lenses (lenslets) that allow for peripheral defocus. The lenslets are using Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target technology to create a high volume of peripheral defocus to slow progression of eye elongation to reduce overall myopia progression.

These spectacle lenses can be used with a wide variety of frames that the patient can choose in our optical. It typically takes between 3-7 days to adapt to the lenses with a success rate of approximately 90%. The glasses should be worn a minimum of 10 hours per day and are safe for all activities.

Stellest lenses are recommended for children ages 6 years old to approximately 16 years old. These lenses are also a great option for children first needing a prescription correction and for those not quite ready to consider the daunting task of wearing contact lenses.

Stellest lenses can correct myopia up to -12.00 diopters of power and up to -4.00 diopters of astigmatism. Studies have shown that wearing Stellest lenses can slow down the progression of myopia about 71% on average over a 2 year period.

Patients will complete an initial assessment for prescribing these lenses and then monitored every 3 months with an in-office visit to ensure proper myopia management. Please call our office to find out more information regarding pricing and myopia management.
